HJJ300-550kW –Structure of the high-pressure-pump unit

The three main components of the HJJ300-550kW pump unit are: high-pressure pump, motor and frame. The components can be replaced individually and are therefore easy to repair.

The pump assembly also consists of two parts. The pump head can be easily removed for maintenance work. This leads to considerable time and cost savings with the long maintenance intervals.

The gear housing with the hydrostatic bearings is located under the pump head. The HJJ300-550kW was developed for continuous operation.

The special features of plunger pumps

HERMETIK high-pressure pumps are piston pumps and work with plungers. In contrast to normal pistons, the plunger is a long piston rod that serves as a piston. The plunger must be guided very straight in the cylinder and must not tilt. If a plunger tilts, this would lead to leaks in the pressure chamber. For this reason, HERMETIK works with a plunger with multiple hydrostatic bearings. The hydrostatic bearings can compensate for lateral movements or tilting of the crosshead and do not transfer them to the plunger.

In plunger pumps, the seal sits in the cylinder wall and is compressed by the pressure in the working chamber with each piston stroke. Depending on the speed, the seals are compressed several hundred times per minute. Over the last four decades, HERMETIK has optimized the sealing block to such an extent that very long maintenance intervals are possible despite the enormous load. At the same time, the sealing block developed by HERMETIK ensures smooth continuous operation.

Another detail that ensures a long seal life in HERMETIK high-pressure pumps is the forced lubrication. The forced lubrication of the high-pressure seals achieves three effects: The seal is lubricated, cooled and leakage of the pumped medium into the gear housing is prevented or can be detected.
