The top descaler consists of the descaling equipment for removing the scale from the upper side of the slab. Ideally, service checks on the rotational unit can be carried out in a maintenance-friendly position beside the the roller line.

As an example, 14 rotors are required to enable perfect surface descaling on slabs with a width of 2100 mm. The upper descaler is designed as a complete solution which includes the descaling equipment, locking mechanisms, quick-release couplings and the positioning unit which is adjustable between 50 mm and 300 mm in height.

The bottom descaler consists of the descaling equipment for removing the scale from the underside of the slab/bloom. To ensure maximum utilisation of the system, we can include a second, redundant, descaler box for descaling the bottom surface of the slab in a nozzle bar version. Ideally, service checks on the rotational unit can be carried out in a maintenance-friendly position during stationary descaling of e.g. low-alloy slabs/blooms. The bottom descaler box is designed, including the descaling equipment, locking mechanisms and the quick-release coupling.
